Easy Pizza Dough Recipe
The only pizza dough recipe you will every need.
Servings 2 10 inch pizzas
- 3 cups All Purpose Flour (360g)
- 2 cups Warm Water no more than 110°
- 2 tbsp Warm Water (in case dough is dry) add little by little
- 2 tsp Active Dry Yeast
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp salt
Make sure your yeast is alive.
Mix sugar, yeast and warm water together.Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, if the mixture foams then you are good to go. If it doesn't you need to get new yeast.
Mix Ingredients together
Sift together the flour and salt. Add the yeast water mixture. Mix until you form a soft dough that is not sticky to touch but no longer feels crumbly. If it's still really sticky, add a little more flour until it feels like soft play dough that pulls away from your hands when you pinch it (but isn't dry).
Trouble Shooting.
If you are using a mixer, remove the dough from the bowl and knead on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes. The dough will be soft but not sticky. If it's too sticky, add more flour as needed. If it seems dry, add 1 tablespoon water at a time until it becomes soft and elastic.
If you are mixing by hand, knead in enough flour to make a soft but not sticky dough. Knead for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic, adding additional flour if necessary.
Form the dough into two balls with greased hands that have been dipped into warm water (or if you're feeling fancy: use plastic wrap) and place them in lightly greased bowls covered with plastic wrap or damp tea towel; let rise until doubled in size (about 45 minutes- 2 hours depending on your environment).
